What Does This Mean?

First comes the fraction, then comes the whole. When all the parts of a fraction add up to the same number as its bottom (called the denominator), it becomes a whole number!

For example:

• If you have 4/4, that means four out of four slices are there—it’s ONE WHOLE pizza!
• If you have 8/4, that means two groups of four slices—you guessed it, TWO WHOLE pizzas! 🎉
