What Are Angles?

Angles are everywhere! Here’s how we can think about them:

1. Imagine two straight sticks meeting at one end. That meeting point is called the vertex.
2. The amount of turn between those sticks makes an angle. It’s like turning your head to look left or right!
3. We measure angles in something called degrees. A full circle has 360 degrees (like slices of pizza).

Let's Look at an Example!

Pretend you're holding scissors. When they're closed, the angle is tiny—almost zero degrees! But when you open them wide, the angle grows larger. If you open them halfway, you might have a 90-degree angle, which is called a right angle.

Right angles are special because they’re perfect corners, just like the edges of a square or rectangle.
