📏 Let's Learn About Area of Complex Figures! 🎉

Area is the space inside a shape. It’s like filling your room with toys—how much floor space do they take? 🧸

When we talk about complex figures, think of them as big puzzles made of smaller rectangles and squares. We just need to find the area of each piece and add them together!

How Do We Find the Area? 🤔

First comes length, then comes width… Multiply them to get the area! Repeat after me:
“Length times width equals area. Length times width equals area.” 🔄

Now, if there are lots of little shapes in one big shape, break it into pieces. Find the area of each piece, then put them all back together by adding. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! 🍋

Let’s Solve Together! ✨

Imagine this figure:

Sample Complex Figure

This figure has two parts: Part A (a rectangle) and Part B (another rectangle). Let’s measure their areas step by step.

  1. For Part A: Length = 4 units, Width = 3 units. So, Area = 4 × 3 = 12 square units.
  2. For Part B: Length = 2 units, Width = 5 units. So, Area = 2 × 5 = 10 square units.
  3. Add both areas together: 12 + 10 = 22 square units. Ta-da! 🎊
