🌟 Let’s Compare Numbers! 🌟
Comparing numbers means finding out which number is bigger or smaller. It's like
deciding who gets the tallest ice cream cone—sometimes it's easy to see, but other times we need to
check carefully!
How Do We Compare Numbers?
First comes 1, then comes 2, and after that? 3! Numbers go up and up like climbing a ladder.
To compare:
Look at both numbers side by side.
If one has more digits, it's the BIGGER number. For example, 10 is bigger than 9.
If they have the same digits, start from the left. Which digit is larger? That’s your winner!
Let’s Try an Example!
We want to compare 15 and 12. Both have two digits, so let’s look at the
first digit:
The first digit of 15 is 1.
The first digit of 12 is also 1.
Since they’re the same, move to the next digit. 5 is bigger than 2, so 15 wins!
So, 15 > 12. Yay for 15!
Tips for Superhero Parents 🦸♂️🦸♀️
Here’s how you can help your little math explorer:
Use toys, snacks, or stickers to show comparisons. “Who has more cars?”
Make it fun with games like "Higher or Lower." Write numbers on cards and guess which is bigger.
Celebrate every step—even small victories deserve big cheers!
