Math Magic Time!

Here’s how we do it step by step:

1️⃣ Draw the number line: First comes 0, then comes 1… and keep going until you reach where you need to go. Make sure there are equal spaces in between each big number.

2️⃣ Split into parts: Each space between two big numbers can be split into smaller pieces. If we want tenths, divide that space into 10 teeny-tiny hops!

3️⃣ Find your decimal: Look at the decimal you want to graph. For example, if it’s 0.4, count four little hops after 0. Mark it with a dot or star—it’s your treasure spot!

4️⃣ Label it proudly: Write down the decimal next to the dot so everyone knows what it is. “This is my special point!” 🎉

Let’s try an example together!

We will graph 0.7 on a number line:

1. Draw a number line from 0 to 1.
2. Divide the space between 0 and 1 into 10 equal parts.
3. Hop 7 steps forward starting at 0.
4. Mark the 7th hop with a dot and label it as 0.7.

And voilà! You’ve found 0.7—it’s hiding right there between 0.6 and 0.8. Great job spotting it! 👀
