Adding 3 or More Decimals

Master the skill of adding multiple decimal numbers with confidence!

Understanding Decimal Addition

Adding decimals is just like adding whole numbers, but with an important extra step!
The key is to line up the decimal points first. This makes sure you're adding tenths to tenths, hundredths to hundredths, and so on. When adding three or more decimals, take it step by step - add two at a time, then add the next one to your sum.

Steps to Add 3 or More Decimals

1️⃣ Line up all the decimal points vertically

2️⃣ Add zeros if needed to make all numbers the same length

3️⃣ Add from right to left, just like whole numbers

4️⃣ Bring down the decimal point in your answer
