What is Division?
Division is like sharing things equally!
When we divide, we're splitting a larger number into equal smaller groups. For example, if you have 12 cookies and want to share them equally with 3 friends, you'd divide 12 by 3 to find that each person gets 4 cookies.

1️⃣ Divide: How many times does the divisor fit into the first digit?
2️⃣ Multiply: Multiply the divisor by your answer
3️⃣ Subtract: Subtract from the dividend and bring down the next digit

Parent Tips 🌟
- Use real objects like buttons or candies to demonstrate division as sharing equally - this makes the concept concrete.
- Practice with money - ask your child to divide amounts like 75 cents among 5 people to show real-world applications.
- Relate to multiplication - remind your child that division is the opposite of multiplication (fact families).
