What is Regrouping?
Regrouping is like trading little blocks for bigger ones!
When we have 10 or more ones blocks, we can trade them for 1 tens block. This makes counting easier and helps us understand bigger numbers.
How to Regroup Tens and Ones
1️⃣ Count all the ones blocks
2️⃣ Trade 10 ones for 1 tens block when you can
3️⃣ Write how many tens and ones are left

Parent Tips 🌟
- Use real objects like buttons or cereal pieces to physically group and trade items - this makes the concept more concrete
- Practice with drawings - have your child draw sticks for tens and dots for ones to visualize the regrouping
- Play store - use play money (dimes and pennies) to reinforce that 10 pennies equal 1 dime, just like 10 ones equal 1 ten
