What Are Addition Sentences?
Addition sentences show different ways numbers can combine to make another number.
Just like how you can make a sandwich with different ingredients, you can make numbers with different combinations! For example, the number 5 can be made with 2+3, 4+1, or even 5+0!
How to Find Addition Sentences
1️⃣ Start with your target number (like 7)
2️⃣ Think of two smaller numbers that add up to it
3️⃣ Write them as an addition sentence (like 3 + 4 = 7)

Parent Tips 🌟
- Use small objects like buttons or cereal pieces to physically show how numbers combine to make new numbers.
- Play "number hunt" games where your child finds objects around the house that add up to a target number.
- Make it fun by using favorite toys or snacks - "If you have 2 teddy bears and get 3 more, how many do you have?"
