What is a Number Line?
A number line is like a special path that helps us count and solve math problems!
It's a straight line with numbers placed in order from smallest to biggest. We can hop along the number line to add numbers or jump backwards to subtract them. It's like playing hopscotch with numbers!
How to Use a Number Line
1️⃣ Start at the first number - Put your finger on the starting number
2️⃣ Hop forward to add - Move right for addition (bigger numbers)
3️⃣ Jump back to subtract - Move left for subtraction (smaller numbers)
Let's Play with Number Lines!

Parent Tips 🌟
- Make it physical: Create a giant number line on the floor with tape and let your child hop along it while counting or solving problems.
- Use everyday objects: Line up toys or snacks and number them to create real-life number lines.
- Play number line games: Try "Guess My Number" where you give clues like "I'm between 4 and 6" or "I'm 2 more than 5."
