What Does "Estimate to the Nearest Ten" Mean?

Estimating to the nearest ten means finding which group of ten a number is closest to.
It's like asking: Is this number closer to 10, 20, 30, or another ten? We use this skill to make numbers simpler and easier to work with!

How to Estimate to the Nearest Ten

1️⃣ Look at the number's ones digit (the digit on the right)

2️⃣ If it's 5 or more, round up to the next ten

3️⃣ If it's 4 or less, round down to the current ten

Look at the number 37:
