Learning about parts of a whole with yummy examples!

What Are Fractions?

Fractions are like sharing your favorite things!
When we divide something into equal parts, each part is a fraction. The top number (numerator) tells how many parts we have, and the bottom number (denominator) tells how many equal parts the whole is divided into.

Understanding Fractions

1️⃣ Imagine a pizza cut into 4 equal slices

2️⃣ If you eat 1 slice, you've eaten 1/4 of the pizza

3️⃣ If you eat 2 slices, you've eaten 2/4 (or half) of the pizza
