Subtraction Facts - Numbers to 10

Taking away numbers is fun when you practice with pictures and games!

What is Subtraction?

Subtraction means taking away!
When we subtract, we find out how many are left after some are taken away. It's like when you share your cookies with a friend - you have fewer cookies left!

How to Subtract

1️⃣ Start with the bigger number (how many you have)

2️⃣ Take away the smaller number (how many you remove)

3️⃣ Count what's left - that's your answer!

Let's Practice Together!

  • Make it a game by using dice - roll two dice and subtract the smaller number from the larger one
  • Sing subtraction songs together to help memorize basic facts (like "Five Little Monkeys")
