What is a Subtraction Sentence?
Subtraction helps us find out how much is left after taking some away!
When we read a word problem, we can write it as a subtraction sentence to solve it. A subtraction sentence has three parts: the starting number, how many we take away, and what's left.
How to Write Subtraction Sentences
1️⃣ Find the starting number (how many you begin with)
2️⃣ Find how many are taken away (what's being subtracted)
3️⃣ Write the subtraction sentence (big number - small number = what's left)
