Understanding Clocks
Time is all around us!
Clocks help us know when to wake up, when to eat, and when to play. The big hand tells us minutes, and
the little hand tells us hours. Let's practice reading clocks together!

How to Read a Clock
1️⃣ Find the hour hand (short hand) - it points to the hour
2️⃣ Find the minute hand (long hand) - it counts the minutes
3️⃣ Put them together to say the time!
Let's Practice!
Example 1: Interactive Clock
Move the hands to make the clock show 3:30!
Example 2: Daily Routine Times
Match these activities with the correct times:
🍎 Breakfast
🎒 School starts
🛏️ Bedtime
Parent Tips 🌟
- Make it real: Point out clocks throughout your day - on the wall, your phone, the microwave - and ask your child what time it is.
- Daily routine practice: Connect time to your child's schedule ("It's 7:30, time to brush teeth!").
- Play time games: Use a toy clock or make one from a paper plate to practice setting different times together.
