Addition Input/Output Tables - Sums to 20

Discover patterns and practice addition with fun tables!

What Are Addition Input/Output Tables?

Addition tables help us see patterns in numbers!
These special tables show us how numbers change when we add them together. Each table has an input number (what we start with) and an output number (what we get after adding). By filling in the missing numbers, you'll become an addition expert!

How to Solve Addition Tables

1️⃣ Look at the numbers you already have

2️⃣ Find the pattern (what's being added each time?)

3️⃣ Fill in the missing numbers using the pattern

Let's Practice Together!

Example 1: Cookie Jar Addition

Every day, Tommy adds cookies to his jar. Can you help complete the table?

Day Cookies Added Total Cookies
Monday 3 ?
Tuesday 5 ?
Wednesday ? 12

Example 2: Balloon Count

At the party, more balloons keep appearing! Fill in the missing numbers.

Time New Balloons Total Balloons
10:00 AM 2 ?
11:00 AM 7 ?
12:00 PM ? 15

Parent Tips 🌟

  • Make it real: Use physical objects like buttons or coins to demonstrate the addition tables. Kids learn better when they can touch and move objects.
  • Create your own tables: Make up fun scenarios (like animals at a zoo or toys in a box) and help your child create their own addition tables.
  • Celebrate patterns: Point out how recognizing patterns makes math easier. "Look how knowing 5+3 helps you solve 5+4!"
