What is an Addition Sentence?
An addition sentence is like a special math sentence that shows numbers
being added together!
It has numbers, a plus sign (+), an equals sign (=), and the total. For example: 3 + 2 = 5 is an
addition sentence that shows 3 and 2 make 5.
How to Write an Addition Sentence
1️⃣ Count the first group of items
2️⃣ Count the second group of items
3️⃣ Write the numbers with a + and = sign to show them being added

Parent Tips 🌟
- Use real objects: Have your child count actual items (toys, buttons, snacks) to create addition sentences with physical objects.
- Make it a game: Play "addition sentence race" where you take turns writing correct addition sentences for pictures you draw.
- Connect to daily life: Point out addition opportunities throughout the day ("You have 2 carrots now, I'll give you 3 more - let's write that as an addition sentence!").
