Adding Three-Digit Numbers
Welcome to the world of big numbers!
Adding three-digit numbers is just like adding smaller numbers, but with an extra digit to think about.
We'll add them column by column - ones, tens, then hundreds - and sometimes we'll need to carry over to
the next column when our sum is 10 or more!
How to Add Three-Digit Numbers
1️⃣ Line them up by place value (hundreds, tens, ones)
2️⃣ Add from right to left (ones first, then tens, then hundreds)
3️⃣ Carry over if a column adds up to 10 or more

Parent Tips 🌟
- Use real objects like blocks or coins to physically demonstrate carrying when the sum in a column reaches 10 or more.
- Make it a game - create addition challenges with small rewards for correct answers to keep your child motivated.
- Practice with money - use dollar amounts to show how this math skill is useful in everyday life.
