What Are Divisors and Quotients?
Division is like sharing treats with friends!
When we divide, we split a number into equal parts. The divisor tells us how many groups to make, and the quotient tells us how many are in each group.
How Division Works
1️⃣ Start with a total number of items
2️⃣ Decide how many groups to make (divisor)
3️⃣ Count how many items go in each group (quotient)
Let's Practice Together!
Example 1: Sharing Apples
You have 10 apples and want to share them equally with 2 friends. How many apples does each person get?
That's right! When we divide 10 apples into 2 equal groups, each group has 5 apples.
Example 2: Dog Treats
You have 15 dog treats and 3 dogs. How many treats does each dog get if you share equally?
Dog 1:
Dog 2:
Dog 3:
Great job! Each dog gets 5 treats when we divide 15 treats among 3 dogs.
