Place Values Section Review

Understanding how numbers are built with ones, tens, and hundreds!

What Are Place Values?

Every digit in a number has a special place!
Numbers are like buildings - each digit stands in its own place that gives it value. The ones place is for single items, the tens place counts groups of ten, and the hundreds place counts groups of one hundred!

How Place Values Work

1️⃣ Ones place: Counts single items (0-9)

2️⃣ Tens place: Each digit here means 10 times more!

3️⃣ Hundreds place: Each digit here means 100 times more!

Parent Tips 🌟

  • Use household items: Count groups of 10 (like pencils or toys) to visualize tens and hundreds.
  • Play place value games: Write numbers on index cards and have your child identify each digit's place.
  • Make it real: When shopping, point out prices and ask which digit is in the tens or hundreds place.
