What is a Subtraction Sentence?
A subtraction sentence shows how we take away one number from
another.
It has three parts: the starting number (minuend), the number we take away (subtrahend), and the
difference (answer). We write it like this: 12 - 5 = 7
How to Write a Subtraction Sentence
1️⃣ Find the starting number (how many you begin with)
2️⃣ Find how many are being taken away
3️⃣ Write the numbers with a minus (-) and equals (=) sign
