Understanding Clocks
Time is all around us!
Clocks help us know when to wake up, when to eat, and when to play. There are two types of clocks: analog clocks with hands and digital clocks with numbers. Today we'll learn to match them together!
How to Read a Clock
1️⃣ The short hand shows the hour (1-12)
2️⃣ The long hand shows the minutes (count by 5s)
3️⃣ When the minute hand points to 12, it's exactly that hour!
Let's Practice Together!

Parent Tips 🌟
- Make it real: Point out clocks throughout your day - on the wall, your phone, the microwave - and ask your child to tell you what time it shows.
- Clock craft: Make a paper plate clock together with movable hands to practice setting different times.
- Time routines: Connect times to daily activities like "At 7:00 we eat breakfast" or "At 8:00 we brush teeth" to make time meaningful.
