What is Division?
Division is like sharing treats fairly with friends!
When we divide 2-digit numbers, we're learning how to share larger amounts equally. Imagine you have 36 candies and want to share them with 3 friends. How many does each friend get? That's division!
How to Divide 2-digit Numbers
1️⃣ Divide: How many times does the divisor fit into the first digit(s)?
2️⃣ Multiply: Multiply your answer by the divisor
3️⃣ Subtract: Take away what you've accounted for
4️⃣ Bring down the next digit and repeat!

Parent Tips 🌟
- Use real objects like buttons or coins to physically divide groups - this makes the concept concrete
- Practice estimation first - ask "About how many do you think it will be?" before calculating
- Relate to multiplication - remind your child that division is the opposite of multiplication (fact families)
