What Are Divisibility Rules?

Divisibility rules are special shortcuts that help us quickly figure out if one number can be divided by another without leaving a remainder.

The Rules Explained

Rule for 2

A number is divisible by 2 if its last digit is even (0, 2, 4, 6, or 8).

A number is divisible by 3 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 3.

Rule for 5

A number is divisible by 5 if it ends with 0 or 5.
