Division Section Review

Sharing equally and solving problems with division!

What is Division?

Division is about sharing things equally.
When we divide, we're splitting a larger number into equal smaller groups. It's like sharing cookies with friends or organizing toys into boxes. Division helps us solve problems where we need to distribute things fairly!

How Division Works

1️⃣ Identify the total amount (dividend)

2️⃣ Decide how many groups (divisor)

3️⃣ Find out how much in each group (quotient)

Let's Practice Division!

Example 1: Sharing Cookies

You have 12 cookies and want to share them equally with 3 friends. How many cookies does each person get?

12 ÷ 3 =

Example 2: Organizing Pencils

There are 24 pencils that need to be placed equally into 6 boxes. How many pencils go in each box?

24 ÷ 6 =

Parent Tips 🌟

  • Use real objects: Practice division with physical items like toys or snacks to make it tangible and fun.
  • Relate to multiplication: Show how division is the opposite of multiplication (if 3 × 4 = 12, then 12 ÷ 4 = 3).
  • Make it practical: Involve your child in everyday division tasks like setting the table or sharing treats with siblings.
