Special Angles: 90°, 180°, 270°, 360°

Discover the magic of right angles, straight lines, and full circles!

What Are Special Angles?

Angles are everywhere around us!
Special angles like 90°, 180°, 270°, and 360° appear in many shapes and objects we see every day. A 90° angle is called a right angle and looks like the corner of a book. 180° makes a straight line, 270° is three-quarters of a circle, and 360° completes the full circle!

Let's Explore These Angles!

1️⃣ Right Angle (90°): The corner of your notebook

2️⃣ Straight Angle (180°): A stretched-out string

3️⃣ 270° Angle: Three corners of a square

4️⃣ Full Rotation (360°): Spinning all the way around

Notice how at 360°, you're back where you started - that's a full rotation!

Parent Tips 🌟

  • Angle Hunt: Go on a scavenger hunt around your home to find examples of these special angles (clock hands at 3:00 = 90°, open book = 180°, etc.)
  • Body Angles: Have your child use their arms to demonstrate each angle - arms at right angles, straight out to sides, etc.
  • Baking Angles: When baking, show how pizza is cut at 90° angles or how a pie is divided into 45° slices (half of 90°).
