What is an Angle?
Angles are everywhere!
An angle is formed when two lines meet at a point. We measure angles in degrees (°) using a special tool called a protractor. The size of an angle tells us how much one line is turned away from the other.
How to Use a Protractor
1️⃣ Place the center of the protractor on the angle's vertex (corner point)
2️⃣ Align one line with the protractor's baseline (the 0° line)
3️⃣ Read the measurement where the other line crosses the protractor's scale

Let's Practice!
Example 1: Measuring a Right Angle
Right angles measure exactly 90°. Try measuring this angle:
Example 2: Real-World Angles
Look around you! Can you find angles in these objects?
Try measuring these angles with your protractor! What do you notice about the angles in different shapes?
Parent Tips 🌟
- Make it hands-on: Use real protractors to measure angles around your home - doors, tables, and even the hands of a clock!
- Angle hunt game: Create a scavenger hunt for different types of angles (acute, right, obtuse) in your neighborhood.
- Connect to sports: Show how angles matter in sports - the angle of a basketball shot or a soccer kick affects where the ball goes!
