What is Multiplication?
Multiplication is repeated addition!
It's a quick way to add the same number multiple times. For example, 4 × 3 means 4 added 3 times (4 + 4 + 4).
How Multiplication Works
1️⃣ Identify how many groups you have
2️⃣ Count how many items are in each group
3️⃣ Multiply the numbers to find the total
Let's Practice Together!
Example 1: Arrays in Real Life

This is a 2 × 3 array. Let's solve it:
2 rows × 3 cookies in each row = 6 cookies total!
2 × 3 = 6
Example 2: Fruit Basket Multiplication
If you have 4 baskets with 5 apples in each, how many apples do you have?
4 baskets × 5 apples = 20 apples total!
4 × 5 = 20
