Understanding Decimal Order
Decimal numbers might look tricky at first, but ordering them is just like
alphabetizing words!
Each decimal has different place values (tenths, hundredths, thousandths) that help us compare them.
When we put decimals in order, we're looking at each digit from left to right to see which number is
larger or smaller.
How to Order Decimals
1️⃣ Compare whole numbers first (the part before the decimal point)
2️⃣ Look at tenths place (first digit after the decimal)
3️⃣ Move right to hundredths, thousandths if needed
4️⃣ Add zeros if numbers have different decimal places (3.2 = 3.20)
