What Are Angles?
Angles are everywhere!
An angle is formed when two lines meet at a point. We measure angles in degrees (°), and different angle
sizes have special names. Understanding angles helps us in sports, art, architecture, and even when
playing video games!
The Angle Family
1️⃣ Acute Angle - Less than 90° (cute and small!)
2️⃣ Right Angle - Exactly 90° (perfect corner!)
3️⃣ Obtuse Angle - Between 90° and 180° (wide and open)
4️⃣ Straight Angle - Exactly 180° (flat line)
5️⃣ Reflex Angle - Between 180° and 360° (bigger than a straight angle)

Parent Tips 🌟
- Angle Hunt: Go on an angle scavenger hunt around your home. Look for right angles in door frames, acute angles in pizza slices, and obtuse angles in open books.
- Sports Connection: When watching sports together, point out angles in action - the angle of a basketball shot, a soccer kick, or a baseball bat swing.
- Art Project: Create angle art by having your child draw different angle types and turning them into creative pictures (like turning acute angles into shark teeth!).
